SORORA IKAYE CAMPAIGN 2025

Bujumbura, September 14th, 2025 YBSP successfully concluded its Sorora Ikaye campaign at Stella Matutina, marking a day of hope and solidarity for vulnerable children. Through the generosity of supporters and partners, 138 beneficiaries of the Education for All and Feed a child programs received essential school supplies to help them pursue their studies with dignity and confidence.

The event was more than a simple handover of materials. It was a true investment in the future of every child, symbolizing the collective effort of a community determined to fight educational inequality. With the warm presence of special guests, community leaders, and dedicated advocates, the day was filled with joy, encouragement, and a shared vision of a brighter tomorrow.

Support that goes beyond school supplies
Speaking at the ceremony, Arthur MUGISHA, official representative of YBSP, emphasized that the initiative does not stop at the distribution of materials.
“Beyond school supplies, YBSP pays extra class fees, provides regular follow-up, and covers healthcare for its beneficiaries. Each request for support is carefully evaluated by a special committee to ensure that the children most in need receive the assistance they deserve.”
In addition to notebooks, pens, and other essentials, menstrual hygiene kits were distributed to adolescent girls, reinforcing YBSP’s holistic commitment to education, health, and dignity.

Voices of Gratitude
One of the beneficiaries, NIZIGAMA Eric, expressed his heartfelt thanks to YBSP for supporting his high school studies. He also appealed for more vulnerable children to have the same opportunity, while encouraging his peers to work hard in their studies:
“Education is the key. One day, with knowledge, we will be able to help others just as we are being helped today.”
Partners Who Made It Possible
The success of the Sorora Ikaye campaign was made possible through the unwavering support of YBSP’s official partners Football Helps Austria, as well as Giving Hand Vocation, Blessed Friends Family, Interact Bujumbura, Unite for Good, BBCI, BIC, and many other friends and personalities who contributed generously.
