SORORA IKAYE CAMPAIGN CLOSING ACTIVITY: GIVING CHILDREN THE TOOLS TO RETURN TO SCHOOL

The Sorora Ikaye Campaign, an initiative of Youth Building in Synergy to End Poverty (YBSP), officially concluded with a meaningful closing activity held at Stella Matutina, bringing together children, families, guests, partners, volunteers, and supporters committed to promoting education and creating better opportunities for vulnerable children.
As part of the campaign, 138 YBSP beneficiaries received essential school supplies to help them return to school prepared and motivated for the new academic year.
The Sorora Ikaye Campaign is built around a simple but important belief: every child deserves a fair chance to learn. For children from vulnerable families, the cost of basic school materials can become a major obstacle to their education. Through this campaign, YBSP works to ensure that children have the necessary materials to begin the school year with confidence and dignity.
A Day of Encouragement and Celebration
The closing event at Stella Matutina was more than a distribution of school supplies. It was a moment of encouragement, recognition, and celebration of the importance of education.
The event was honored by the presence of guests from different organizations, partners, community representatives, and government personalities, who came together to support the initiative and encourage the children.
During the event, the guests recognized YBSP’s continued efforts to contribute to education and youth development in Burundi. They emphasized the importance of education as a foundation for personal development, community progress, and a better future.
The children were encouraged to take their studies seriously, work hard, remain disciplined, and make good use of the opportunities provided to them. 138 Children Equipped for the New School Year
Through the Sorora Ikaye Campaign, 138 beneficiaries received school supplies to support their return to school.
The materials provided are intended to respond to the basic needs of students and enable them to participate more effectively in their education. By receiving these supplies, the children can begin the academic year better prepared and with a renewed sense of motivation.
For YBSP, supporting children with school materials is part of a broader commitment to promoting children’s rights, access to education, and opportunities for young people from vulnerable communities.
